This synthetic media assignment challenged us to create a short film using AI generated content. This vague description allows us to explore different tools (generative text, text to image, text to video, image to video, etc...) and approach the assignment however we see fit for the story.
I experienced some mixed feelings when we first started this assignment, mostly rooted in hesitations surrounding the ethics of AI generated art and finding the balance between me as the creative vs the machine as the technician. 

Objectives for these two weeks: Understand serial communication.

Did I get it?
Kind of.

For our P-comp midterm project, Julia and I were interested in exploring light readings through water and how ink droplets can obscure light readings to alter a sound output.

The final project became a collaborative interaction that allows a few people to add onto each other's input, whether it was to add different ink colors or to stir the mixture. Ultimately changing the volume of the sound output as the water becomes more saturated, creating the final "Witch's Brew Cocktail" (to embrace the halloween theme).

This week's worksheet required us to manipulate the New York Times homepage and make some local updates to understand the HTML and CSS structures and components.

And as you can see, I had some fun celebrating the late centenarian sprinter, Julia Hawkins.
