Pixel Art - at least trying to make pixel art...

Can we make Van Gogh's Starry Night come to life and twinkle?
Shouldn't be too challenging, considering the color palette consists of mostly blues and yellows, right?

A common theme in this program - its not as simple as it seems.
In Starry Night, similar colors are used in the sky and mountains AND the village below, so if we intended to isolate a particular blue range in the sky, it would affect the other areas that share those color values. 

Our plan was to create color zones and bounce the brightness of that zone in their own defined range.
​The first zone was the yellow pixels, as highlighted in red below.
Its then further subdivided into different saturation levels and brightness levels for "bouncing ranges". Their bouncing range limits are slightly varied therefor "pulsing" speed is slightly different, creating an illusion of twinkling.
​Then the same thing is done with to the blue sky.

Here is a progress view of just the yellow zones twinkling in isolation.

You may also notice, we darkened the background image with the tint() function to create more dramatic effect in the yellow brightness.

Resolution question:
​For some reason, when we view the image on Chloe's computer, we see the animation through subtle change and in finer detail (see the video). But when embedding the p5 sketch to the blog or viewing in full screen, we see the imagery more pixilated and the brightness shift is more dramatic effect... 
Why is that?

Final thought:
If we had more time to work with this code, I would have loved to work more with arrays and custom call functions. That approach, I believe, would have been quicker to build upon in layers, and the code would look much more organized and easier to read through.
​However it took so long to get the initial attempt to work, that it was easier for my brain to comprehend by copy-pasting multiple lines of code over and over again for each "color zone".
